About Us

Design West Properties, LLC, owned and operated by Cameron deGavre and Taylor Bartels, invests primarily in urban properties appropriate for renovation and resale as condominiums. Our renovated properties seek a clean, consistent, timeless design that is a great backdrop for your own style, whether it be contemporary, traditional or somewhere in between!

Cameron deGavre graduated from Florida State University in 1989 with her Bachelors of Science degree in Interior Design. A native of Fairfax, VA, she returned to Northern Virginia following graduation and started her own interior design practice, focusing on spatial layout, color selections, wall finish techniques, and cut goods. In 1994, she moved west to Scottsdale, Arizona. In Scottsdale, she complemented her existing design practice by representing Robb & Stucky Home Furnishings. This allowed her the freedom to provide full service interior design to her high-end residential clientele.

In 1999 she relocated to Denver and married Taylor. Shortly after arriving in Denver, she began work with Kestrel Partners, a local developer. She selected all unit finish materials, exterior finishes, common area finishes and handled all customer finish selections and upgrades at Belcourt, a 12-home luxury cul-de-sac on S. University Boulevard, and Portico, a 106-unit luxury condo tower on Cherry Creek Drive South.

Following a one year sabbatical, Cameron founded Design West Properties, LLC, which has focused solely on the renovation and conversion of existing apartment buildings to condominiums. Cameron enjoys having total control of every aspect of the design process and finishing units in a timeless style using warm colors, textures and fixtures similar to those in her past high end projects.

Taylor Bartels completed his bachelor's degree in Finance and Real Estate from Colorado State University in 1993. He joined a Denver financial services firm, providing retirement and estate planning to high net worth individuals from around Colorado. In 1997, he co-founded a financial services firm which ultimately grew to twelve employees. He was introduced to Cameron by one of his clients and, after leaving the financial services business, founded Design West Properties, LLC.
